Attention Economy
Posted on: May 31st, 2008The growth of information leads to scarcity of attention. People don’t read websites anymore – they skim. Attention Economy is a marketplace where individuals receive services in exchange for their attention. Services include personalized search and news, recommendations, and alerts. It’s all about giving the consumer more choices as to where they should spend their attention. Another aspect of the Attention Economy is relevance. As long as the consumer is shown relevant content, he or she will spend more time on it, creating more opportunities to sell. This trend is already being employed by Amazon and will become more important to the Internet economy over the next ten years.
Internet TV
Posted on: May 20th, 2008Internet TV is a trend that’s already very popular online, but there’s still more to come. In October 2006, Google bought YouTube, the Internet’s most popular video property. In the same month, the founders of Skype and Kazaa announced that they are working on a new Internet TV service called The Venice Project (which was later renamed Joost). YouTube continued to dominate all throughout the year 2007 while Internet TV services continue to explode all over cyberspace. In ten years, Internet TV will probably be completely different from what it is today and have more powerful streaming, better quality pictures, personalization options, and more.
Offshoring

Advantages of VoIP
Posted on: May 10th, 2008While there are disadvantages to using VoIP, like any technology, the advantages largely outnumber these.
The biggest advantage, and the primary reason why most consumers use VoIP, is that they save a lot of money. Since VoIP uses the internet, the only cost you have to consider is your internet costs. Of course you will need broadband internet access for the service to work properly, but you can speak for as long as you want over VoIP and the cost will remain fixed.
VoIP also allows you to hold conference calls with entire teams communicating in real time.
Other features are included in the service, such as voice mail, contact lists, caller ID, and extra-virtual numbers.
VoIP
Posted on: May 5th, 2008VoIP stands for Voice Over Internet Protocol and is a system that transmits voice traffic over an IP-based network. VoIP has been very popular among consumers lately, especially when making long-distance calls, because of its cost advantages. VoIP is reported to be cheap, but some companies offer their services for free. As long as you have a computer with a mic, speakers, and a broadband internet connection, you can take advantage of free VoIP communication.
There are three ways to use VoIP: one is for both parties to have a PC, another is to have a phone on one end and a PC on the other, and the third is for both parties to have two phones. Although VoIP can be used on a mobile phone or telephone set, this service usually requires payment but it is still cheaper than making standard long distance phone calls.

The market will be interrupted by a new technology and there will be a shift in how products are currently used. Something like a Google or Facebook will emerge out of nowhere and will provide great opportunities for marketers who can react quickly to it.
